Government announces new task forces for existing task forces
KUALA LUMPUR - The government is in the process of setting up additional task forces to look into existing task forces that are currently investigating various issues in the country, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak announced here today.
Speaking at a press conference after a Parliament session today, Najib said that the main priorities of the new task forces will be to equip the current task forces with the necessary skills as well as ensure that they perform their duties accordingly, and will come under the proposed Task Force Ministry.
Najib said that the idea came about after conducting a meeting with the members of the Prime Minister’s Department earlier this week. The Prime Minister concluded that the task forces currently dealing with issues such as the Port Klang Free Zone controversy, the Lingam case and the Teoh Beng Hock inquest may not have been assigned with the necessary personnel required to deal with their respective cases.
When asked if the government intended on creating additional task forces to assist the new task forces that are currently assisting the existing task forces in the near future, Najib replied that nothing was in the works at the moment, although it was a good idea, and that it would be possibly part of the directive within the Task Force Ministry’s criteria.
The Task Force Ministry will consist of experienced personnel derived from previous task forces in recent years, and will function as an investigative body for future social and political issues within the country. It is expected that Najib will announce the formation of this ministry later in the year, and has assigned a task force to assist with its coming inception.

Get rid of the Barisan Nasional government first and the new government can have all of the task forces it wants on all these issues which will have real teeth.
